Gourmet Heartbeat

Gourmet Heartbeat
Deven 1 Comment Tags: gourmet heartbeat, health and life

Cooking food strokes so many memories. It recreates the “home”, the experience.

I love what Dr. Andrew Weil said in one of his books – You are what you eat.

As we are launching the Gourmet Heart beat initiative as part of our Fondness Network, we are looking forward to bringing the “heartbeat” to everyone in our network.

We have had thousands of stories from people that have tried our gourmet recipes from Gourmandia. (Link to that). It’s so heartwarming to see the variety of themes that come up over and over in those stories.Food and cooking recipes are fun

I wanted to bring up a few of these here.

Fun – The number one thing people have from cooking and recipes is fun. That is priceless.

Life – Doesn’t food literally bring “life” to our lives? Is there a time of the day, or the time of the year, or a special occasion that doesn’t involve food?

Health – We have had so many discussions about what we get from the food and recipes. I think the awareness for better nutrition and balanced life is more now than ever before. Also, there are so many resources to learn about all of this. We are building our knowledgebase to benefit the Gourmet Heartbeat ™ community. We would love to bring the insights to you, and also we are very keen to learn from you. There is no expert after all that can pack wisdom and experience of millions of people that are part of our network.

healthy lifestyle

Purpose – I extend “Andrew Weil’s “you are what you eat” to the world of relationships and growth.
Is it a coincidence that while interacting with our community, we have captured insights about basic human nature, relationships development, and overall personality growth? I don’t think so. Your kitchen table probably has more stories about your life than any other place. The discussions, the ideas, the energy that you experience give a new perspective to life, doesn’t it?

Food for thoughtIt also ties in the other “food” that we all have. The people that we meet with, the books that we read, the movies that we enjoy, the new things that we try, new skills that we learn also creates the range of “tastes” in our life.

This is a big ‘aha’ that I am going to keep and use for the rest of my life.

Now it’s your turn. What is one thing that you associate with food in your life?

Nice article, Deven. For me, food and wine offer the greatest opportunity for memorable conversation. You’re right. At the kitchen table (or living room table or sitting cross-legged on the carpet in the den), conversation flows into stories and those stories become priceless, especially as the years roll by.
