Cameron’s New Year’s Party Dishes

Cameron’s New Year’s Party Dishes

No one loves a good party more than me and I love some great party dishes. The thing to remember with parties is the fact that food has to be:

Fairly Clean (fingerfoods are a good thing!)

Easy to serve (no heavy sauces)

Easy to eat (Leave the forks at home!)

Little to no cleanup (Avoid the pile of dishes)

That means we can eliminate most pasta items, anything messy, or anything that can’t be served on paper. Fortunately, that leaves some great dishes that can be prepared well ahead of time and that make great party food. Whether you are hosting yourself or going to someone else’s party I wanted to provide everyone with a few ideas for this weekend’s upcoming parties, events, and parties. If you like these ideas I have some very good recipes for Bowl week this week. Look for those here soon!

Spinach and Artichoke Dip

1 cup thawed, chopped frozen spinach

11/2 cups thawed, chopped frozen artichoke hearts

6 ounces cream cheese

1/4 cup sour cream

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1/3 cup grated Parmesan

1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

Chop vegetables finely and boil. Combine, mayo, parmesan, garlic salt, sour cream, and cream cheese together and heat. Combine and heat until warm. Serve warm with chips.

Cameron’s Easy Tacquitos

5-10 corn tortillas

1 lb. Shredded beef

1 tsp crushed red pepper

1 tsp pepper

1 tsp salt

2 tsp garlic

1 jalapeno chopped

1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Mix spices into olive oil and baste shredded beef. Boil shredded beef until tender. Shred apart. Heat tortillas for 20 seconds in microwave or for 2 minutes in iron skillet (individually). Place beef and chopped jalapenos into tortillas and wrap. They should make neat little rolls. Sprinkle cheese on the prepared rolls and heat for 2-5 minutes in oven until nice and hot and cheese is melted. Serve very warm.

I feel that the theme is also very important in a party. Everything must be according to it if you want your party to be in order. Choose a theme that you like the most. And when you have chosen your theme, make it lively through the other programs that you are setting. You could also design the place according to what your theme is and of course the food shouldn’t be absent in your party. This would make your bash wonderful and satisfying. Just make the dish simple and make sure that the set of food is complete. There should have the main dish, a dessert and a beverage if the party is just simple but if it’s a big party, well you could hire a catering service and tell them what food you want to be served.
