Its Bowl Week!
Oh my! We have a lot of different college football bowls this week like the: Poinsettia Bowl, Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, Sun Bowl, Cotton Bowl Classic, Alamo Bowl, and oh so many more this weekend. Bowl parties are a staple throughout the country and people will be donning their alma mater jerseys (or just their favorite team) and having great parties. This time of year is always a great time for hearty dishes and spicy warming foods. The nice thing about a football party is that people are more stationary, quieter (for color commentary) and generally better behaved meaning that you can break out some messy foods and not worry about your carpet, your pets, or your furniture. Parties can still get crazy, don’t get me wrong, but its not the same as a mixer. So serve hearty dishes with great sauces, good finger foods, and things that are easily eaten. Some ideas are below:
Some party food ideas for your bowl parties over the next week:
Hot wings!
Cameron’s Hot Wings
8-10 wings
1 cup butter (melted)
2 cups flour
2 eggs whipped
The Sauce
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp crushed red pepper
2 tbsp sirarcha sauce
1/8 cup tabasco  (or other hot sauce)
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp cayenne
1 tbsp mustard
1 cup parmesan
Coat wings in eggs and flour and fry in butter until golden brown and lay aside. Combine sauce ingredients in oil and pour over wings. Fry for 5-10 minutes again until sauce is dark. Serve hot and enjoy!
Cheese Sticks!
Cameron’s Cheese sticks
8-10 pieces of String cheese (frozen)
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 cup flour
2 cups bread crumbs
Heat oil in large skillet. Combine flour and bread crumbs. Season with salt and pepper. Take out frozen cheese sticks. Wash in egg and flour until they are throughly covered. Fry for 2-3 minutes in the hot oil until the batter is golden brown or cheese is oozing out. Remove from skillet and serve!
Cameron’s Chicken Tenders (a great one to save for the kids too)
6-8 chicken breasts
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 cup flour
2 cups bread crumbs
Heat oil in a large skillet. Whip eggs and milk together and season with salt and pepper. Combine flour and bread crumbs, season with salt and pepper. Baste chicken pieces (cut to size) in eggs and flour mixtures. Fry until very firm. Serve warm with any sauce.

I am a big football fan and December to March is when things get Interesting for me. Your suggestions are great for football games. I will have to add my fix of chips and cola though.

Saucy, and spicy; it’s an all-time favorite. Surprise your family and friends with these fabulous hot wings and serve with your favorite Blue Cheese or Ranch dressing. So easy to make, you might just become known for your hot wings .

Nice going, Cameron. These will not help me retain my slim figure! So, my slim figure will have to be retained after the “bowls”.
